The feelings we don’t have the words to describe

The feelings we don’t have the words to often feel the most powerful. ⁣

♾When love can’t describe the abundant heart. ⁣

♾When fear can’t describe the terror. ⁣

♾When devotion isn’t the word that describes the bullet that would be taken. ⁣

♾When a “breakdown” can’t begin to articulate the unravelling of the life you’ve held so dear; even if you’ve had a hand orchestrating the ending. ⁣

♾When death is an overwhelming loss so intense the numbness can’t be spoken of. ⁣

Complex feelings and the lack of language that surrounds them can trap us in rumination and produce mental gridlock. Exploring feelings and giving words and language to them can help unlock the strengths needed to address them. When we can name the thing we can recalibrate. Moving forward with clarity often means journey through the unknown. Sometimes the way out of something is through the very heart of it. And that direct route is often faster and less painful; albeit more uncomfortable for a short time. ⁣

At Momentum our unique practice includes a hybrid approach of counselling and coaching – and we’ve got lots of words to help you fill in the spaces between feelings and language so that you can step forward with a new vocabulary.
