On self kindness.

If your internal dialogue isn’t very nice, it’s very likely that if you spoke to other people the way you speak to yourself, well, you’d have no friends.

That was stupid.
Why do you always mess things up.
What’s wrong with you?
You are getting so fat.
You are so ugly.
You can’t ever get it right.

Can you imagine ever saying these things to another human? (If you do, please stop).

We have been conditioned to think that being hard on ourselves will result in increased motivation. Yet research (not just some Instagram therapist) proves that it actually works in reverse.

Sometimes we heard these things in our childhood that we internalized as our inner critic. Sometimes we adopted these things as a coping mechanism. Either way, they don’t serve you and they absolutely hurt you. When we judge ourselves so deeply we also judge others which impacts the quality of our relationships.

Learn more about your inner voice, where it came from and how to get off the conveyor belt of self judgement. A life time of saying those awful things is a life sentence that is avoidable.
